Kicking out poverty housing
When nearly 5 million EURO 2008 football fans in Austria flock to 15 giant screens in four host cities from June 7-29, they’ll be able to root for their favorite team – and simple, decent, affordable housing for families in need. Nearly 3,000 15-second spots urging viewers to get involved in Habitat for Humanity’s work are airing during the European Football Championship finals.

Former Romanian president Dr. Emil Constantinescu spent the week of May 11-16, 2008, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, at the 2008 Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project. Dr. Constantinescu led a delegation of volunteers from his country. “When a major need arises, I have to be present,” he said.
